Mariam Aleksidze is invited by the Mediterranean Conference Centre Valletta and its musical director Alexei Galea Cavallazzi to deliver master classes and creative workshop for Maltese dancers.
Within the framework of the process, Mariam Aleksidze will choose the dancer, who will have the opportunity to deepen his experience with Giorgi Aleksidze Tbilisi Contemporary Ballet Company and will participate the joint project by Tbilisi State Chamber Orchestra “Georgian Sinfonietta” and Giorgi Aleksidze Tbilisi Contemporary Ballet – “Early Dances”.
The partnership between Giorgi Aleksidze Tbilisi Contemporary Ballet and Studio Wayne McGregor starts from 2020.
On 17-21 February 2020, within the framework of the partnership, one of the most distinguished British choreographer and director – Wayne McGregor’s repertoire workshop will be conducted for Giorgi Aleksidze Tbilisi Contemporary Ballet Company dancers.
For the Company dancers this is the opportunity to experience the unique choreographic language of Wayne McGregor.
The company will partake in the worldwide celebration of 100th Anniversary of Merce Cunningham, the legendary American choreographer – the Merce Cunningham Centennial. In connection with the anniversary, the Merce Cunningham Trust issued our company with a license to have guest teacher Eshley Chen conduct Cunningham Technique and Repertory Workshop for the company dancers and students.
Cunningham Technique and Repertory Workshop is conducted as part of the Merce Cunningham Centennial celebration.

On 4-10 September, in cooperation with the Goethe Institute and in partnership with International Animation Film Festival “Nikozi”, a workshop on dance theatre was conducted by Berlin-based choreographers Be and Mevlana van Vark for our company dancers.
On 12 March 2017, in cooperation with British Council Georgia, Giorgi Aleksidze Tbilisi Contemporary Ballet participated in a workshop conducted by the British inclusive dance company, Candoco.
On 15-22 August 2016, Giorgi Aleksidze Tbilisi Contemporary Ballet Company participated in the summer school organized by the South Caucasus Contemporary Dance Festival. Guest teacher Yentl de Werdt (Belgium) conducted intensive master classes in contemporary dance and a workshop on the creation of dance videos for the dancers.

In 2020’s Spring, due to the coronavirus pandemic, Giorgi Aleksidze Tbilisi Contemporary Ballet started the series of video classes in Contemporary Dance Technique specially developed to do at home and in the open air.
Classes was provided not only for our Company dancers and students, but also other dancers and amateurs who during the curfew kept fit and worked on the dancing technique in a new way.
The classes were provided by Giorgi Aleksidze Tbilisi Contemporary Ballet’s educational programmes teacher William Pratt.

On 22 July, Aleksandra Soshnikova, Moldovan dancer and choreographer, held a master class on contact improvisation for the company.
On 15 July, in Mziuri Park, within the framework of Tbilisi City Hall’s project Under Tbilisi Skies, the company held a demonstrational contemporary ballet class and a master class for professional and amateur dancers. Educational programme head: Marina Aleksidze; teacher: Natia Chikvaidze.
On 10 June, in Mziuri Park, three open master classes in contemporary ballet were held for children and teenagers (aged from 10 to 17) within the framework of Tbilisi City Hall’s project Under Tbilisi Skies. Educational programme head: Marina Aleksidze; teacher: Nino Gogua.
On 7-9 December 2016, with the support from the French Institute in Georgia, within the framework of the South Caucasus Contemporary Dance Festival, a master class in contemporary ballet was held by French dancer Arthur Louarti for the members of Giorgi Aleksidze Tbilisi Contemporary Ballet Company.
On March 7, Company Director and Tbilisi State University Professor David Maziashvili delivered public lecture “Dante 700 – Beatrice on the Georgian Stage” at Akaki Tsereteli Kutaisi State University.

Company Director and Tbilisi State University Professor David Maziashvili participated at The XIV James Joyce Italian Foundation Conference in Rome, dedicated to the centenary of the publication of Ulysses by James Joyce.
David Maziashvili’s Lecture Series: Contemporary Ballet Beatrice – Three Conversations about Dante and The Divine Comedy
The process of staging Beatrice became special because Tbilisi State University Professor David Maziashvili conceived a remarkable series of lectures: “Three Conversations About Dante and The Divine Comedy”. The lectures were delivered by Tbilisi State University Professors Temur Kobakhidze and Levan Gigineishvili and philosopher Zaza Shatirishvili. They presented these lectures especially for the company and the artistic team. The educational video project made it possible to share the lectures with the broad audience by means of the Facebook page and YouTube channel of Giorgi Aleksidze Tbilisi Contemporary Ballet.

On January 21st, in The University of Oxford - Bodleian Library, a combined exhibition, seminar and screening on the theme of “Shakespeare in Georgia” was carried out by our Company director, a Georgian Programme Visiting Fellow and Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Professor David Maziashvili.
Within the framework of the project, the screening of Mariam Aleksidze’s “Shakespeare. Love” – a choreographic performance on Shakespearian themes took place.

On 22 November, in the Union of Tbilisi Municipal Museums at Vakhtang Tchabukiani memorial museum, held a meeting with the artistic director of Giorgi Aleksidze Tbilisi Contemporary Ballet - Mariam Aleksidze, within the framework of Tbilisi Baroque Festival 2019. The theme of the meeting was -"Baroque in Modern Choreography".
On 12 November, in the city of Stuttgart, Germany, within the framework of the Hinter den Grenzen (Beyond Borders) project, Rati Amaghlobeli, Russudan Meipariani and Mariam Aleksidze held a meeting-discussion with the audience; the meeting was moderated by culturologist Ulrike Bohne.
During the preparation of the new ballet, STALAG VII-A, Giorgi Aleksidze Tbilisi Contemporary Ballet Company attended a meeting-lecture by musicologist Manana Kordzaia on Olivier Messiaen and his Quartet for the End of Time.
A students’ choreographic forum-festival, Terpsichore 2018, was held at Shota Rustaveli Theatre and Film Georgia State University to celebrate the International Dance Day; Mariam Aleksidze’s meeting-master class for choreography students was held within its framework on 27 April.
Within the framework of Mariam Aleksidze's contemporary ballet Metamorphoses an exceptionally important educational project was implemented by the company director, the author of the project idea and concept and its supervisor, David Maziashvili, and the Silk Factory Film Studio.
Academician Rismag Gordeziani, hosted the company members in his home where they listened to his lecture on Ovid’s Metamorphoses. Tbilisi State University Professor Temur Kobakhidze delivered a lecture called Perception of Ovid’s Metamorphoses in the 20th-Century Literature especially to the company. The company members and the artistic team attended a public lecture Shakespeare’s Metamorphosis in London Theatres of 2017 by David Maziashvili, associate professor of Tbilisi State University and company director.
Within the framework of the series of public lectures and meetings organized by Tbilisi Museums Association, Company Director and Choreographer Mariam Aleksidze was invited to deliver a lecture-meeting on Contemporary Ballet, which took place at Vakhtang Chabukiani House Museum on 28 September 2017.
The lecture was attended by students of Vakhtang Chabukiani Choreographic School, Tbilisi Theatre and Cinema Institute, students of the History of Arts Faculty, doctoral students of Ilia State University and Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Giorgi Aleksidze Tbilisi Contemporary Ballet Company and specialists of the field.
At the end of the lecture, Mariam Aleksidze talked about the importance of establishing Giorgi Aleksidze Tbilisi Contemporary Ballet Chamber Company by Tbilisi City Hall and about the company’s artistic directions.
