The idea of the project is to reflect the human path from birth to death.Relying upon the generalized beginnings of Abkhazian folklore and myths, the line of the production develops in a way to tell a story of unity of human being with the universe. In this performance, Abkhazian instrument Acharpan will be represented by a beautiful ballet dancer with movements reflecting the sounds of the instrument. Acharpan is the core concept of the staging and the guardian angel of the main character.
The music of the performance is inspired by the folk Abkhazian motifs and melodies by modern composers. Works of contemporary composers are combined with unique ethnographic music collection, performed on traditional Abkhaz instruments – “Acharpan” and “Aphkhertsa”.
Choreography of Mariam Aleksidze is based on the elements of contemporary ballet together with the elements of archaic Georgian dances. The minimal scenographic set, costumes and lighting devices by stage designer Georgi Alexi-Meskishvili provide the unique atmosphere for the emotional tone of the entire performance.
